No critical, or real, thinking from the Board of Regents

Is this who makes decisions?

Is this who makes decisions?

Not less than a month after ACTA gave the University of Georgia a “B” for maintaining a core curriculum, the Board of Regents has announced plans to water down it down.  As I noted in my Pajamas Media column, today’s teachers can turn English 101 into an indoctrination session (and most do to a certain extent).  What is to replace the “core curriculum” (such as it is) under the new plan?  “Global Perspectives” and “Critical Thinking.”  The former is code for teaching one-world government perspectives, with the U.S. duly chastised.  The latter is code for indoctrination.

But no “kudos” to the Georgia Public Policy Foundation for giving “kudos” to the streamlining of transfer of credits without noting the politicization and watering down of standards.  They’re a great group that sponsored a great education reform seminar a couple weeks ago.  But conservative think tanks need to start digging to learn about the code words academics use.
